Meet our pastor
Dr. Q. E. Hammonds, Senior Pastor
Pastor Hammonds has served the denomination as a District Moderator and a State Convention Vice President. In the National Baptist Convention of America, he has served as Recording Secretary of the Foreign Mission Board, and now serves as Chairman of the Foreign Mission Board and as a member of the Board of Directors. Pastor Hammonds has also served as Homiletics Professor of Birmingham-Easonian Baptist Bible College. At Antioch he directs a life touching, spirit-filled ministry.
Quinton Earl Hammonds is the third child born to the union of Ross T. and Rubye Hammonds. He confessed Jesus as Lord and was baptized into the Fellowship of the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church by the late Dr. O.V. Mosley. He graduated with honors from Holy Family High School and went on to graduate from Alabama A&M University, receving a Bachelor of Science Degree in History and Educaton. At age 18, while a sophomore at A&M, Quinton answered the call to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Pastor Hammonds received a Bachelor of Divinity Degree from Easonian Baptist Seminary and the Master of Divinity Degree from Universal Bible Institute. Pastor Hammonds has also been awarded the Honorary Degrees of Doctor of Divinity, White Theological Serminary and Doctor of Letters, Easonian Baptist Seminary.
Pastor Hammonds served the New Saint Paul Baptist Church of Bessemer from 1978 to 1980. Since 1980 he has been the Pastor of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Pratt City in Birmingham, Alabama.
Pastor Hammonds is a much sought after Evangelist, Lecturer and Teacher. His personal theme is “Lord use all of me to proclaim all of you.” He is married to the former Mary Alice Perry of Bessemer. He is a proud father and grandfather.
